Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar tools the website www.trattorialenuvole.it uses, as required by art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines of 10 June 2021. The controller is Trattoria Le Nuvole di Manservisi Elisabetta, Via Fondo Banchetto 5, 44121 Ferrara (FE), Italia, info@trattorialenuvole.it. For everything else about personal data, read the privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the site you visit saves in your browser and that are sent back on later visits. They are used, for example, to remember a choice or keep a session open. They can belong to the site you are visiting (first party) or to other services the site embeds (third party). Similar tools, such as browser storage, follow the same rules.
2. How we use them
The site only uses technical cookies, which do not require consent. To know how many people visit the site and which pages they read we use Umami, an anonymous analytics tool that sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device (see section 3). We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or profiling cookies. Fonts are hosted on our own server, with no calls to external services. The only third-party content is the Google Maps map on the Contact page, which loads only with your consent.
3. The cookies, one by one
Technical cookies of the site
| Name | Set by | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| smarti_cookie_consent | www.trattorialenuvole.it | 6 months | Remembers the choices made in the cookie banner and the version of the policy you saw. |
| NEXT_LOCALE | www.trattorialenuvole.it | 12 months | Remembers the language you opened the site in, so later visits start from it. |
| nuvole_staff, nuvole_prova | www.trattorialenuvole.it | Working session | Staff only, in the restricted area: they keep the login and the test mode open. They are not set for visitors. |
Stripe's technical cookies, only in the card guarantee step
For some services the booking requires a card guarantee. Only when you choose one of those times and reach the card step does the page load Stripe's secure form (js.stripe.com), which sets these cookies to protect the card registration from fraud. On the other pages Stripe is not present. They are necessary for the service you are requesting and do not require consent.
| Name | Set by | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | 1 year | Fraud prevention: recognises the browser while the card is registered. |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | 30 minutes | Fraud prevention, for the current session. |
Gift card purchases instead take place on Stripe's payment page, on its own domain, with the cookies described in Stripe's cookie policy.
Third-party content subject to consent: the Google map
On the Contact page the map is blocked: in its place you find the address, a link that opens Google Maps in another tab and the button "Show the map". The map loads only if you accept functionality cookies in the banner (a choice valid for 6 months) or if you press "Show the map" (a choice valid for that page). When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies on the google.com domain (for example NID, which lasts 6 months, and the others listed by Google) to make the map work, remember preferences and, under its own rules, for its own purposes. Google processes this data as an independent controller, including in the United States, under the safeguards of the Data Privacy Framework. Read how Google uses cookies and Google's privacy policy.
Anonymous statistics, without cookies
To count visits we use Umami, analytics software installed by Smarti, the agency that built the site, on a server in Finland (Hetzner, European Union). It sets no cookies and writes nothing in your browser. When you open a page, the site's script sends the server the page visited, the site you came from, browser type, operating system, device type and language; from the IP address it derives the country and approximate city, then the address is not kept. To tell one visit from another it uses a code computed on the fly from that data and a secret value that changes periodically: it is not stored on your device and does not allow you to be recognised over time or followed across other sites. For this reason, under the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines, no consent is needed. The script and the data pass through our own domain, not through third parties. Details in the privacy policy.
Browser storage, which is not a cookie
In the gift card form, if you go to pay on Stripe and then come back, what you had typed is retrieved from the browser's session storage (sessionStorage), which empties when you close the tab. It never leaves your device and is not read by anyone else.
4. How to manage your choices
On your first visit a banner appears with three equally prominent options: "Accept all", "Reject" and "Choose", to decide category by category. Closing the banner with the X gives no consent: only technical cookies remain. You can change your mind at any time from the "Cookie preferences" button at the bottom of every page, or from here:
The banner is shown again every 6 months and whenever this policy changes substantially. You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings; in that case some features (for example the remembered language) may not work as expected:
5. Your rights
For data collected through cookies, the rights described in the privacy policy apply: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent. Write to info@trattorialenuvole.it. You can also contact the Italian Data Protection Authority.
6. Updates
If we add tools that use cookies (for example analytics or marketing tools with cookies), we will update this page and the banner will ask you again what you prefer. This is the version of 1 October 2026.
